On 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the members of the Women’s Parliamentary Network met, at the National Assembly, with women MPs of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, representatives of the Serbian Government’s Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team, civil society organisations and international organisations.
Members of the Women’s Parliamentary Network Marija Obradovic, Dubravka Filipovski, Aleksandra Tomic and Aida Corovic talked to businesswomen Ruzica Rudic Vranic from Subotica, Valentina Aleksandrovic from Nis, Ljubinka Milovanovic from Vranje and Jana Zabunov from Novi Sad.
Today, the National Assembly House hosted the Second National Conference of the Women’s Parliamentary Network.
MPs Dubravka Filipovski and Marija Obradovic at took part in the World Bank Conference in Washington, 7- 12 October 2014, dedicated to global economy issues, youth employment, gender equality, climatic and energy changes in the world.
Marija Obradovic, member of the Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, presented the activities of the National Assembly’s Women’s Parliamentary Network to the members of the Sub-committee on Gender Equality operating within the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination.

The Conference was opened by National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic who said that the Conference aims to urge the women of Serbia to take active part in politics at all levels, from local community to the National Assembly, and work on the realisation of their rights in the spheres of health, education and combating domestic violence.
