Today in Kraljevo, there was a workshop held organised by the Association of Businesswomen of Serbia and WPN. The topic of the workshop was gender disaggregated statistical data collection on local, small and micro enterprises, establishing of a fund for support to women’s entrepreneurship and self-employment, and participation of women in supply chains.

In the National Assembly Building, the Working Group for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Women’s Parliamentary Network jointly presented the cooperation between the National Assembly and civil society organisations.

In the National Assembly Building, the Fourth National Conference of Women’s Parliamentary Network was held, presenting the results achieved by the WPN Coordinators in the previous year, as well as the goals for the upcoming period and good practice examples in women’s networking.

Today, in the National Assembly Building, the coordinators of WPN held their first working meeting in the 9th Convocation of the National Assembly. At the meeting, the Women’s Parliamentary Network was officially established, consisting of 14 women MPs. Marija Obradović was appointed as the Chairing Coordinator and, in case she was not available, her deputies Stefana Miladinović and Tatjana Macura would stand in her place.

In the National Assembly Building, the members of Women’s Parliamentary Network, the UN Representatives for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and the delegation of the Republic of Albania spoke about the position of women and women’s empowerment in the social and political life.

In cooperation with the Fund for Social and Democratic Initiatives (FoSDI), WPN organised a panel on human security in the media. The results of a research on the media content were presented, and the participants discussed the role of the educational system and the creation of the public perception of security.

Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojković opened the seminar of WPN organised in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and UNDP. She invited all women MPs to become members of the Network in this convocation of the Assembly, so that they could work together on improving the position of women.

In the National Assembly Building, members of WPN had the opportunity to meet Iris Eberl, member of Bundestag and member of the Committee for EU Affairs. They talked with her about the achieved results and the future activities of the Network.

In cooperation with WPN, the Women’s Platform for Development of Serbia organised the Forum for Gender Policies in Rule of Law and Antidiscrimination Areas.
