A workshop was held for the local councilors of Morava, Raška and Rasina districts

The purpose of the two-day workshop was the strengthening women councilor networks in several areas that are important for their further work. Trainings and consultations were held in order to give the support to councilors in the area of gender equality and other relevant local public policies, but also as guidelines for achieving greater visibility of women’s councilor networks in their local communities and media.

The sixth National Conference of the Women’s Parliamentary Network successfully realized

This year’s conference of Women’s Parliamentary Network, organized under the slogan “Women building future “, was conceptualized around the SDG UN Agenda 2030. The event was the place for debate, exchange and meeting of MPs, members of local parliaments, representatives of the academic community, line ministries, international donors and civil society.

Freja Forum 2018 focused on digitization, equal opportunities and democracy

The twelfth Freya Forum, dedicated to equal opportunities, democracy and the challenges of the digital future, was held in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade from 9th to 11th November 2018. Freja Forum represents a platform for promoting and supporting the gender equality, equal opportunities, democracy, dialogue, diversity and entrepreneurship.

Women’s Parliamentary Network Meets with UK Parliamentary Delegation

MP Aleksandra Jerkov, WPN coordinator, briefed the delegation on the WPN’s activities and scope, stressing that gender responsive budgeting has become part of the Budget Law and Budget System Law in Serbia thanks to the Network’s efforts. She also said that the WPN has achieved significant results most notably by helping amend the Criminal Code and eliminate the statute of limitation for sexual abuse of minors.

WPN Serbia – Four Years of Activity and Results

The Women’s Parliamentary Network of Serbia was established at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia four years ago, on 14 February 2013, for the first time in Serbia’s parliamentary history, after the introduction of the quota system in the parliamentary elections held on 6 May 2012.
