In the National Assembly Building, the meeting of WPN was held. The topic was the Fourth National Conference of WPN held on November 4th. At the meeting, it was said that this Conference so far had the highest rate of participation of local authorities and institutions. It was also underlined that the importance of the Conference was recognised around the world as a good practice example of gender equality and political activism in Serbia. It was concluded that WPN had largely empowered
and encouraged women to actively take part in public political life at the local level, particularly with their strong advocacy for gender-sensitive budgeting.
Members of WPN discussed their active participation in the work on the Law on Elimination for Domestic Violence and the amendments of the Criminal Code, as well as in the amendment proposals submitted by civil society organisations.
The plan of activities of WPN for the upcoming period was discussed and adopted.
